The Clewiston Police Department fields a force of thirty full-time employees. The Department boasts a K-9 Unit, dive team, Communications Division, and a CID that fields its own certified Crime Scene Technician. The Clewiston Police Auxiliary provides the valuable support of volunteer sworn officers to city-wide enforcement efforts.

The Department operates under the direction of Chief Aaron Angell.  We serve approximately 7,400 year round citizens in addition to a large seasonal population within the 4.57 square miles of incorporated Clewiston.  We share common borders with the Communities of Harlem and Twin Lakes creating a total Clewiston area population of more than 15,000 people.

The City is located geographically on the shores of Lake Okeechobee. Due to the waterfront and many miles of canals within the city, it is necessary for the Department to undertake marine events and coordinate enforcement and rescue efforts with the Coast Guard, Clewiston Fire Department, and Hendry County Sheriff's Office.

The dive team unit is made up of six team members.  All members are black water certified and hold several other scuba certifications.  The dive team has had numerous successful dives recovering key evidence to aid in successful prosecution in criminal cases.
