Under the administrative control of the Utilities Director, Cecilia Guzman serves as Warehouse Specialist for the City. Cecilia is responsible for the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services at the lowest possible cost consistent with the quality needed to provide the best service and value to the taxpayers.
The major objectives of the Purchasing Division are to:
• Ensure the City receives the best value obtainable for every tax dollar spent.
• Promote free, open competition and equal opportunity for all vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor vendor performance to insure reliability.
• Keep abreast of current developments in the field of Purchasing.
• Monitor prices, market conditions and new products.
• Maintain and guarantee the integrity of the city's procurement program, the warehouse facility and its inventory.
