Clewiston’s Electric Rates Among Lowest in Florida

The City of Clewiston is proud to share that, based on a recent analysis conducted by the Clewiston Communications Department, the city’s residential electric rates are among the lower-cost third of municipalities in Florida.

The data, originally published by FloridaTrend.com in September 2025, highlights electric rates for non-investor-owned utilities across the state. According to the report, Clewiston’s average monthly residential bill for 1,500 kWh is $174.36, which ranks 16th lowest out of 48 municipal utilities statewide.

For comparison:

  • Average bill across all municipalities: $189.98

  • Median bill: $190.15

  • Lowest municipal bill: $145.34

  • Highest municipal bill: $269.20

“Clewiston’s position in the lower-cost third demonstrates our ongoing commitment to keeping electric rates affordable for our residents,” said city officials. “We’re proud to deliver reliable service while maintaining competitive pricing compared to other Florida communities.”

With about two-thirds of Florida municipalities charging more, Clewiston remains an attractive and affordable place to live and work.
