City Manager's Office

The City Manager of Clewiston is appointed by a majority vote of the City Commission and serves as the chief administrative and executive officer of the City. This role encompasses the responsibility for the overall administration of City affairs, ensuring that operations run smoothly and effectively. 

The City Manager holds a range of powers and duties essential for the governance of Clewiston. One of their primary responsibilities is to ensure that all laws, ordinances, and resolutions enacted by the City Commission are implemented faithfully. The City Manager directs and supervises all departments and divisions of the City government, delegating responsibilities as necessary to facilitate efficient operations.

The City Manager is expected to attend all City Commission meetings and keep the Commission informed about the financial status and needs of the City. Furthermore, the City Manager is responsible for preparing and presenting an annual budget for consideration, ensuring that financial planning aligns with the City’s priorities and obligations.

The City Manager's duties extend to contract management, financial oversight, signing contracts, bonds, while also managing the collection of revenues and maintaining accurate financial records. The Manager must ensure all expenditures align with the approved budget and maintain a consistent accounting system across all City departments.
