Danny Williams City Manager City of Clewiston

Daniel "Danny" Pierre Williams was born on December 22, 1958, in Clewiston, Florida. Raised in Moore Haven until 1982 and then settled in Clewiston, Danny has spent his life deeply rooted in his community. He is a devoted husband to Libby Polhill Williams and a proud father to Kameron Williams Demarco and Chase Daniel Williams. His love for family extends to his cherished grandchildren, Brooks Demarco, Emerson Demarco, and Elias Williams.

Danny dedicated 35 years of service to Sprint, beginning in 1978 and working diligently until his retirement in 2013. His expertise and commitment earned him prestigious awards, including the First Henson Award, Sprint Outstanding Achievement Service Technician of the Year, and the Sprint Community Service Award for the state of Florida. Recognized for his dedication, he was also featured in the book “The Real Heroes of Business.” Following his tenure at Sprint, he transitioned into public service with the City of Clewiston, where he served as Director of Utilities (2013-2020) and later as Director of Operations (2020-2024). In 2024, he was appointed City Manager, where he continues to lead with integrity and vision.

Beyond his professional achievements, Danny has always prioritized giving back to his community. His involvement began early with the Community Relations Team (1978-1985), and he continues to serve on the Board of Supervisors for the Clewiston Drainage District and the Riddle Field Airport Board. As a member of the First Baptist Church, he has also had a lasting impact on youth sports, coaching Little League Baseball from 1986 to 1997 and high school baseball from 1998 to 2001. His commitment to mentorship and leadership has left a legacy on the next generation.

Danny's contributions have not gone unnoticed, earning him the distinguished title of Director of the Year in both 2015 and 2021. His goals as City Manager reflect his dedication to progress and efficiency. He strives to enforce all municipal laws and ordinances, oversee the effective administration of city departments, and enhance service delivery in a cost-effective manner. His vision includes modernizing and streamlining city services, attracting new businesses to boost tax revenue, and eliminating wasteful spending across all departments.

Through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to his community, Danny Williams has built a life and career to be proud of. As a lifelong resident of Clewiston, known as “The Sweetest Town in America,” he considers himself truly blessed to have a wonderful family, a fulfilling career, and the opportunity to serve his hometown. Among his proudest achievements is his remarkable 47-year record of perfect work attendance testament to his dedication, reliability, and unwavering work ethic.
