Director

Travis Reese serves the City Of Clewiston as Fire Chief and Community Development Director.

He is a dedicated and distinguished leader with over 35 years of experience in public service.

As fire chief he is responsible for the protection of life and preservation of property within the Clewiston Fire District.

The department serves the City of Clewiston and the unincorporated areas of East Hendry County encompassing an area of 305 mi.² with more than 15,000 residents.

Chief Reese holds multiple State and FEMA certifications including Certified Floodplain Manager, Certified Building Code Administrator, Certified Fire Inspector from Florida State Fire College and numerous certifications from the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Atlantic University.

Chief Reese began his career with the City of Clewiston in 1988 with the Public Works Department advancing to Assistant Director. In 2007, Mr. Reese was appointed Building Official and then Director of Community Development 2010.

Chief Reese was appointed Fire Marshal in 2014 and has proudly served as Fire Chief since October 2018.

Chief Reese‘s goal for the department is to provide a safe environment for the community by minimizing the impact of fire and injury through public education, quality service, emergency preparedness, and an overall culture of safety.
