Clewiston Museum
"The history of Clewiston is as rich as the soil she sets on. As vast as the big lake she stands beside."
Established in 1984, the Clewiston Museum offers visitors a rich look into the unique history of the Hendry and Glades region of South Florida. Representing the heritage of Hendry County, the museum features exhibits ranging from prehistoric fossils, Spanish artifacts, and Native American history to the founding and growth of Clewiston, along with the fishing, cattle, and sugar industries that shaped the area.
Visitors can also explore exhibits highlighting Riddle Field and the role of the Royal Air Force over Clewiston during World War II. Located on the southwest side of Lake Okeechobee, the Clewiston Museum invites residents and visitors alike to step inside, learn, and experience the stories that helped shape our community.
