Civic Park

Civic Park spans 4.14 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in the heart of town, offering a peaceful setting with walking paths, a playground, picnic tables, and inviting swings that line the walkways. At the center of the park stands a memorial honoring the WWII British Cadets, adding historical significance to this charming community space. Civic Park is a favorite spot for a relaxing stroll, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown. Throughout the year, the park plays host to a variety of events, including Veterans Day ceremonies, the “Meet at the Pole” celebration, the monthly City Market (held the second Saturday from November through April), Sugar Festival Arts & Crafts, and Concerts in the Park. One of its most beloved features is the white gazebo—a romantic and picturesque setting, perfect for outdoor weddings.
