Barbara Edmonds, Commissioner

Barbara Edmonds, Commissioner City of Clewiston

As a dedicated public servant and businesswoman, I am honored to serve as a City Commissioner in Clewiston, Florida—affectionately known as “America’s Sweetest Town.” Born and raised in this vibrant community, I have a deep-rooted commitment to its growth, prosperity, and the well-being of its residents. My passion for public service drives me to advocate for policies that enhance economic development, infrastructure, and overall quality of life.

My educational and professional journey has provided me with a strong foundation to serve our community effectively. A proud graduate of Clewiston High School and West Technical Cosmetology, I have taken on leadership roles in several organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce and the Hendry County Cattle Women’s Association. Additionally, my experience on the Building and Zoning Board and the Clewiston Sugar Festival Committee has given me valuable insight into the city’s development and cultural heritage.

As a wife, mother, and grandmother, I understand the importance of family and community. I believe in maintaining an open-door policy, ensuring that the voices of Clewiston’s residents are heard. By actively listening to the concerns of our citizens, I work to find practical solutions that benefit families, businesses, and future generations. My goal is to help create a thriving, inclusive, and forward-thinking community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

I am committed to preserving Clewiston’s charm while fostering progress, and I am always available to connect with community members.
