Records Services
Our Records Custodian processes a steady flow of public and personnel requests for records searches and reproduction.
The Records Custodian for the agency provides advice for agency personnel on proper handling of public records, their authorized distribution, and ultimate destruction. Public records requests may be made in person, by phone, mail, or email services. Most requests are processed promptly in order of receipt. Sizeable and complex records search(es) and copying projects will take proportionately longer to complete. If practical, an advanced call to Records Services may help expedite the process or limit customer wait time. Customers are encouraged to provide a case number for their request, if possible. In addition, the incident location, date, approximate time and names of parties involved will help expedite your request.

Local Background Checks:
A local City of Clewiston Background Records Check includes only a search through the Clewiston Police Department local records database and does not include reports/incidents that were handled by any other law enforcement agency. This is not considered a comprehensive background report or confirmation on the status of someone’s criminal history or lack thereof. The fee for a City of Clewiston resident is $5.00, Hendry County resident is $15.00 and all others are $50.00. Only cash is accepted and proof of residency is required.
